I believe Ernie McAfee was the west cost distributor. I'm not sure who it was on the east coast, but I don't think it was Tony Pompeo..Maybe Alec Ulmann? I was only 3 years old in 1950...

John: I have no idea who Italia Motors actually was, or where they were in Los Angeles. There was an Italia Motors in Long Beach, California, but that wasn't until the late 50s. They sold Alfas.

The big west coast Italain car importers in the early 50s were Edgar and McAfee. I know McAfee did sell Morettis at his locations on Cahuenga Blvd and Sunset Blvd in LA.

I'm a little surprised that Roosevelt Motors (JFR) was the east coast Moretti importer, as they were the big Abarth importer.

Are you an "Italian car guy" too?

The only thing even remotely related to Packard would be the 1954 Carrera Panamericana car of Trevoux with coachwork by Rocco Motto of Turin, Italy...

DR: Thanks for the link. Jean Trevoux raced a 1951 Packard Standard Club Sedan in the 1952 Carrera Panamerican. The leg between Taxtla and Oaxaca in the Sierra Madre Mountains he finished first on that leg of the race. He finished 5th over all in the 1952 race. The number on his car was 48.

John: Yes, I know, and someone has made a replica of the car, but I don't remember who. I'm not sure where the Motto bodied Packard is today, or if it even still exists....would love to own it though....

dr: There was another 51 Packard that ran in the 1952 Carrera Panamericana. Who entered the car and what was race number of the car. The car finished 12th if my research is correct.

Stu: You certainly posted some interesting information on Packard's racing in the 53 and 54 Carrera Panamericana. In the 52 the Packard entry was entered and driven by Raymundo Corona of Mexico City. The Packard driven by Corona carried the number 66.

You stated that you were born in Switzerland. Can you supply me with some history on Martini, that was built in Switzerland.
