With respect to the '55 - '56 Ford comment . . . from the front the easiest way to tell would be, round turn signal lens = 1955, rectangular turn signal lens = 1956.

This photo is posted on the Nunda, N.Y. Historical Society website FaceBook adjunct. Being local, two miles away, here are the pertinent details to give context.

The 22nd Series 1948-'49 Packard Eight station sedan in the foreground belonged to the Foote family who owned and operated Foote Co. who pioneered and built road paving equipment in a factory just quarter mile to the right in this image. They were among the few wealthy local families, their Tudor-style mansion still stands on Massachusetts Street. Among the hundreds of area men employed by Foote Co. was my maternal Step-Grandfather Kenneth 'Dutch' Buchinger for 32 years.

The location is the corner of State Street and Second Street. The Mary Jemison Inn, a typical small-town hostelry, is presently an apartment house. Who owned the 1946-'47 Packard Clipper parked in front is unknown.

Proud 1953 Clipper Deluxe owner. Thinking about my next Packard, want a Clipper Deluxe Eight, manual shift with overdrive.

What wonderful history to have such detail of a photo! Interesting too, parking in front of a fire hydrant must have been allowed then.

A 1942 Convertible Coupe. I think it is (was) a One Ten. I don't believe a traditional body 120 was made in that model year. If wrong, please jump in an correct me.

Correction Dept. It is a Special Eight (120) not a Special Six (110).

I say the 42 is a 110. Front bumper detail and no fender stainless is my basis.
Subsequent photo, '52 - trunk emblem and license light.
