Still waiting on the wheel cylinder links, so currently blocked. But all the wheel and axle seals have arrived.

Also, I manage to break free the spinning wheel part of the eccentric. It took significant heat to break it loose.

But not working it back and forth and some PB Blaster it now spins free.

Also made up some grease shield gaskets.

And finally, after lots and lots of wire brushing, I was able to paint hardware.

I really regret getting rid of my small HF media blaster back in September. I hadn't used it in a long time. Little did I know.

Having trouble trying to find replacement for a few springs. The spring that goes on the parking break cross piece is missing. So I need the bendix part number on that, or a link to whom sells it.

Also one of my eccentric eccentric springs is broken, so I want to replace all of those as well.

Any help in point me in a direction would be helpful!

You might be able to find the strut spring by taking a strut in to Napa and see if any of those in the link are a close enough match to the old width. Expect most modern springs may be a lot smaller but possibly not. Strength is probably not too critical as I think they way the struts notch into the shoes the spring is mostly for vibration control so exact length not as important. Amazon also has a couple of Raybestos offerings that look more like the originals but didn't see any detailed info on size with those. Maybe info is available on a Raybestos site.

On the eccentric spring maybe the same can be found at Napa or possibly even a generic spring at the hardware store. Most of the generic types are sold by wire diameter along with overall length and coil diameter. Unless the ends are really shaped odd you might be able to get something close. That one is probably not all that critical either as I think it just keeps the shoe in constant contact with the eccentric.

If they were the same for later years or if you have dimensions, I can probably dig some up and send to you in a few days once I get to my shop and settled in.

Thanks, I'll see what Napa has instock as I really need to get these back together tomorrow.

Today, I managed to get the rear driverside axle replaced and that backplate back on. Also mounted all the wheel cylinders and hoses. Had to run to Napa and get crush washers for the hoses as they were not included in the rebuild kit.

While at Napa, i bought all the needed legnths of hardline and cut and bent them up.started to bend up. I still need to make right rear line and the line between the master cylinder and the rear hose connection. Everything, except the juntion blocks in the brake system will be new. The lines were in horrible condition.

I should have warned you that Napa didn’t include them for my 1954’s hoses either. When I said I needed them, they insisted that if I did, the book would say so and they would be included with the hoses! It took a little persuading.

The hoses came with the kit from Kanter. But luckily Napa had washers in stock.

There is a spring manufacture in Chicago.

I used Ajacks spring in new York.
They made all my needed springs.

In fact. I had stainless springs made for the radiator.

If you need that I have them.
