Proud 1953 Clipper Deluxe owner. Thinking about my next Packard, want a Clipper Deluxe Eight, manual shift with overdrive.

Other than there being a 'nice bunch of goodies' that go with that car, it seems priced awfully high?? Or is it just me?? Chris.

Seems okay to me for a full classic in a very rare body style, that's essentially drivable!

It's a top of the line car. It's a 180, not a 160. I think it has overdrive because there's an overdrive relay next to the voltage regulator. It is a complete car with all the extras, and that's half the battle. The outside costs to restore might get you to breakeven if you had to sell it. Any time you spent cleaning it up and prepping it would be worth it because it's top of the line.

But next to this one at Glen Vaughn's, it does seem overpriced.

Agreed. Horrible choice.
Also the 180 butterfly chrome was swapped out for 160 chrome (which I happen to like better, but isn't right). I guess they hesitate to call it a 180 because of that.

It's a 180 originally. It has a 180 dash and vanity mirrors and hubcaps.

But it's a long way ahead of the other in terms of restoration cost. Why Vaughn's would wrap a steering wheel instead of having it redone. The Backwards place for doing that is a stone's throw away.

Maybe 12-15k would make more sense.

I would take the CL one any day! It's all original and unmolested so no worries about what's right or wrong. It is also closer to me than the other which makes it very tempting indeed!
