Are you going to paint right away after the sealer?

Usually it goes right into paint about 3-4 hours after the sealer drys so it has a chemical bond. If not you will need to scratch it to give it a mechanical bond.

Well at least that is what I was taught.

BigKev,

You are correct but I usually end up with Orange Peal in my sealer . So what I did on my doors and rumble seat lid is let it sett for a few days then wet sanded with 400 and then sprayed the Single Stage Top Coat.

Tom,

Always great to see Packard pic's. And with your family connection to the Coupe your Grandparents 50th Wedding Anniversary is a very nice way of capturing that time. Keep 'em coming, never get tired of Packard pic's.

I am off for the next few weeks. Wish me luck as I am hoping for good weather so I can get some color on the main body.

Will keep you all posted and I will post photos.

Something to wet your appetite. Since I sprayed the shell with epoxy and it was drying I figure I take a try at some buffing. This is the first time for me to use a machine for buffing. I am pretty impressed with the way it turned out. Have a few sand scratches left but nothing some 2000 can't take out.

Well here you have it color on the body. Black for the roof and belt line will be sprayed in a few days.
