Wat was being bad about the "duel" sidemounts . . . .

If you're not having fun, maybe it's your own damned fault.

I have always thought the Sedans were more attractive than the Touring Sedans. The lack of a trunk bustle on the Sedans makes for a smoother body style, especially without side mounts.

I am of the opinion that they should have done away with side mounts when the headlights were put into the fenders.

So none of the pierce arrows should have sidemounts?

My first Packard (1936 120 business coupe) had no sidemounts and I wanted sidemounts, so my next Packard had sidemounts. Now that I've had both I rather dont have them.

Sometimes it seems like all conversations here migrate back to side mounts…

Side Mounts has always been the best way to mount a horse.

Side mounts or as Packard called them fender wells or deluxe equipment take a toll on handling. You have this big chunk of sprung weight hanging on the frame.

Sure the look can be great as it sensitizes a certain visual que.

The difference in handling is like vanilla extract in a cake. You can't taste it, but you sure know when it's missing.

Proud 1953 Clipper Deluxe owner. Thinking about my next Packard, want a Clipper Deluxe Eight, manual shift with overdrive.

The 51 convertible and 49 look really clean.

The guy with the 41 is crazy. According to him it hasn't seen rain since 1962, yet there are obvious water stains on both the front and back seats. Would be a good buy if you take off a zero.

'55 400. Needs aesthetic parts put back on, and electrical system sorted.
'55 Clipper Deluxe. Engine is stuck-ish.
