The bidding so far is low but I would be surprised it it stays that way! If it were a hearse, I would be tempted too at the low price it is.

Just when you thought society couldn't slide backwards any further you see this line: I bought this Packard to learn how to weld....🤦‍♂️

Was expecting to see a 55 or something! At least it sounds like he never got around to it.

'55 400. Needs aesthetic parts put back on, and electrical system sorted.
'55 Clipper Deluxe. Engine is stuck-ish.

No, there's a Caddy engine and tranny installed by a self-admitted novice. I doubt he asked for he'p.

Here are some of the worst Packards I could find that are now for sale online. Let's see if anyone is up for a real challenge.

1940 110 Coupe: Looks almost hopeless, even for a ratrod project:

1954 Caribbeans: Very rusty parts car along with a somewhat better shell. My hat is off to anyone willing to tackle this project.

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1707789532896984/?ref=search&referral_code=null&referral_story_type=post

1939 Six Sedan: Rough and rusty from long term outdoor storage. Don't even see much that would be salvageable on this one.

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1569880953406014/?ref=search&referral_code=null&referral_story_type=post

1953 Clipper Deluxe Club Sedan: Extensively rusted rear quarter panels will be very difficult to repair. Rest of car is pretty trashed too.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/185507551828?hash=item2b311c9a54%3Ag%3A7JwAAOSw0CRixbrO&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&campid=5337650957&customid=&toolid=10049

1949 (22nd Series) Deluxe Club Sedan. Ad says "The vehicle needs work". Classic understatement. On the other hand, the body shell does look straight and rust free, so there is definitely something to work with here. It's located in Utah, which undoubtedly helped.

1956 Clipper sedan: Looks complete, but it will need virtually everything. Interior is nasty.

Forgot the link for the 1949 Deluxe now on Ebay:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/325275978147?hash=item4bbbf589a3%3Ag%3AMjEAAOSwkipi11xf&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&campid=5337650957&customid=&toolid=10049

And here is a really rough 1940 120 sedan in Lincoln, NE. Ad says it is a '39, but it is definitely a 1940 model:

One more: A 1955 400 Hardtop in California. Very rough, but appears to have little, if any rust and lots of good trim parts. Ad says it is a '56, but it is a '55.

You're right, my bad. The Lincoln, NE car is definitely a 160 Super Eight. Incidentally, the cover of the current issue of the Cormorant News Bulletin shows a picture of this same model taken from a period advertisement. But I don't think you will be taking this one for a drive in the country anytime soon, if ever!

If anyone wants a tough project I'll just sell you my car for the same price as any of these, and it's twice as solid
