Yes, for Packard, 39 was the first year for OD, the Borg Warner R6. However, with some slight modification (as Peter Toet had documented), the floor shift top cover can be fitted to the later side shifting transmission housings which were the only ones created for the OD adapter plate.

I just bought the rear glass for my 1951 car from the seller in Pittsburgh that has 3 windshields for sale. He is actually located in Canonsburg, PA.
The other 2 pieces he has are for a 1953-54 car, front and rear glass. He offered to throw them in for nothing if I wanted to take them too.....
