No, not at the Texas Packard in Kerrville Texas. Those pictures were taken at the Packard Automobile Classics National meet in Traverse City Michigan in June.

I believe he used the car on the Bankhead highway tour,https://www.facebook.com/TheBankheadHighway/

I wonder how many 1941 Packards were assembled equipped with air conditioning, Cellarette, and power windows? Couldn't have been very many!

Hi Wes,

The October 1, 1940 edition of Automotive Industries is a rare find. It mentions briefly "Full mechanical refrigeration" and includes a photo of the evaporator cabinet in the 1941 Packard.

Do you have access to other issues of Automotive Industries?

Hi 57pack,

The answers to your questions are elusive.

Beverly Rae Kimes wrote in Packard: A History...: Packard engineer WH Graves stated that Packard built about 3000 air conditioning units from 1940 to February 1942.

The hydraulic power windows were standard on the 1941 180 Series, along with the privacy window, if equipped.

As for the cellarette production, I have no information.

Well this is about the only other piece that I've found about A/C in Packards. Automotive Industries have change their name to Automotive and Aviation Industries due to the war effort. A lot of interesting reading and drawings of war planes. I started with Jan. 1940 and now I'm up to Sept. 1942. If I see anything else, I will post, but for now it's mostly about the war effort.
