I believe the 51-56 manual master cylinders are the same part number (standard Wagner unit). Just different mounting location in 55-56.

Actually, it is a simple affair. The container is attractive because it is machined from a billet of aluminum. Not original looking, but attractive. The MC cap, tubing, and bracket come with the kit. Wendall can tell you all about it.

I'm sure someone could easily make something like this (pic below). All you would need to do is drill a larger hole where the vent is in the existing MC lid. Tap it, and install the fittings, and then run a line up to the bottom of a vessel of some kind with a vented lid.

Then of course make a bracket for it.

And fill the existing vent hole on cap (PB's) side so it doesn't all run out.

And if you go that route, add a small nipple on the underside of the cap to maintain the fluid level just a bit below the threads on the cap. See this detail in post #67.

Hey BigKev,

I for one, would be interested in the insulator pad for my '51 which was delivered yesterday!

Re: post 68. Agreed! Remove the duct tube and gets much easier. I also started using a very small plastic (clear) paint measuring cup to add brake fluid. Easier to tip and not spill.

Back to the coil again: I had mentioned I found no traces of holes in the firewall... turns out I must have been thinking of something else when I looked, as once I moved a little the wiring harness and hoses, the holes are there for mounting the coil horizontally just behind the engine and to the left and above of the distributor, about halfways between the distributor and the heater box (you will be able to see them in the pic if you look carefully). Needless to say, I will be moving the coil there.

Question here is: the holes appear to be for sheet metal screws: what type of head should the coil support screws use: hex head perhaps?

Thanks,
Victor
