With a lot of rubbing compound, polish and wax and elbow grease it came out better than I thought. New tires make a difference also. The paint is old with scratches and dings but cleaned up OK. All the chrome is in need of being re-chromed. This will be my daily driver after I finish the brakes and fix the windshield wipers. Happy Richie.
I can't see the pics in the preview, hope it works out.

Very nice. Don't see the green/gray two tone that often. Original?? If so, think that would be code NC. Vanderbilt Gray upper and Vermont Green lower.

Have you downloaded the 46 fact book. While not specific for 47, there were relatively few changes between the two years so it will give lots of info for the entire 21st series.https://www.packardinfo.com/xoops/html/downloads/46DataBook.pdf

Very nice Clipper! Thanks for the pictures. Enjoy your ride!
The upper paint looked more like a very light green to me. Am I getting old? What is the paint code? And don't forget to publish the identification number and also the thief-proof number stamped in the firewall.

HH56,thank you, and actually the top is a very light green, hard to tell in the pics. I just did download that book, I love it!! It will take me forever to read it but that's the fun of it. Thanks for posting it HH56. Richie

Randy, thank you, the top is light green, I don't have a clue what the paint code is. What is the thief proof number?
I am still learning about these things. Richie

Richie, the thief-proof number is stamped into the firewall on the passenger side. It is bracketed by "< >". Perhaps O_D can tell us what the first letter is followed by six numbers.

Frankly Richie, unless you are bent on entering the car for judging against the trailer queens at the national meets, I wouldn't worry that much about the color, especially if you like it. I certainly do. You have a very lovely car, if you ask me.

You can make a lot of really neat things from the parts left over after you rebuild your engine ...

Perhaps O_D can tell us what the first letter is followed by six numbers.

Up thru the end of the 23rd series, 6 digits, no alpha characters. Starting in 1951 and thru the end, 5 digits preceeded by an alpha character, A thru D.
