Another floor covering question that I can't find any pictures to confirm:

In the 23rd cloth interiors, does the carpet stop at the rear seat or does it continue under and is covered by the rear seat bottom?

- Thanks all!

First glance of the "just installed" brand new floor mat!

The car is still at the interior shop and she wanted it in to fit the rear carpet and kick panels under and over it. We're expecting the mat to eventually relax and fit better to the floorboard. I will be posting more pictures after I get it home with the interior complete.

After much ado, here is the finished floor mat.
Thanks to all for the valuable input, guidance and suggestions! I still haven't yet seen an original floor mat in person so it could not have happened without you and this site (priceless resources!)

Looks good. Is what you are repro'ing the black rubber and is that a strip of carpet laying over it or is it all one piece? I haven't seen a 23rd rubber mat either -- just the full carpet sets with the accessory rubber mats laying on top of that.

Yes to all 3 questions.
The black rubber I had repo'ed and the carpet strip was attached to the rubber last (making it one piece).
If you noticed 1st and 3rd pictures from Ross on page of 1 of this post, you can see the similarity with an original mat.
Thanks!

Very nice work! Beautiful outcome. The courtesy lighting shining from the corners of the dash are they factory ? Is this added lighting for the photos? Creates a nice effect

Sam, I just found out that the "US Rubber" logo is embossed on both ends of the front floor mat. Hope this helps. Frank
