What is the preferred method of holding the Torsion Load Arm while
removing the upper and lower control arms.
My local AutoZone did not have the J6065 tool.......

Easiest way is to buy or borrow the J6065 tool, it is rather plentiful within the 55/56 Packard community.

You can do it with chain but the tool is really the best and easiest way. I believe Troy at Michiana Packardshttp://michianapackard.com made another batch not too long ago and may still have some for sale. You could contact him and see.
