is there any literature on rebuild for this carb.?
What would cause the car to break up at acceleration on the high end?

The WCFB carburetor is covered in the Packard shop manual for 1954.

High speed breakup could be fuel starvation or can just as likely be caused by ignition issues. Check your fuel pump for pressure and volume, and fuel lines for clean filters; if they are OK I'd do a thorough ignition tune up and then re-evaluate.

I don't recall the details and can't seem to stay logged in long enough to find them but if the bogging down happens on a corner, there was a modification required that added a small tube to one of the top cover attaching holes. Apparently fuel would slosh that way and the tube blocked it.

PackardDon is correct on that, I had a 56 GH with that problem.
But mine was only when "taking out" and turning at the same time.
