How do i remove the kingpin from the wishbone? Maybe it is sitting for a long time and because of that very hard to remove. I removed the lock pin that holds the king pin in place. Then i heated the wishbone and smashed the kingpin hard with a smaller pin and hammer. I used this method a couple times but the kingpin seems to be frozen in place. Any of you guys know how to remove the kingpin? Maybe remove the wishbone and try to push it out using a press or something? With friendly regards Kees from the Netherlands

On my 1939 model, I had to take it to a shop and use the Hydraulic press to get the old one out.

G'day Kees de Koning,
to PackardInfo.

Yes, used an hydraulic press for the Kingpins on my '41, virtually the same suspension.

I invite you include your '38 Packard in the Packard Vehicle Registry.
