New video just now on youtube. Only a few Packards, but great viewing from a time when many of us were growing up. Grab a shot of Old Charter and have a watch.

Nice! My guess would be around 52 or 53 but certainly during the time when the A bomb was on everyone's mind. There was a billboard at about 4:30 -- just after they passed the Royal Food Center -- advertising a bomb shelter for $795. Wonder how many of those businesses along Wilshire are still around.

Also saw the May Co before it merged with Robinsons. May Co was one of Gracie Allen's frequent destinations in the old Burns and Allen show. She would usually drag Blanch Morton along and get into some kind of trouble. Losing track of where she parked her car and taking a taxi home was a frequent predicament. Sending Harry von Zell to find the car (and usually a parking ticket) and then the explanation to George when he wanted to go somewhere and the car was not in the garage of how or why she lost it provided the humor.

Born in 1952 and had relatives that lived in the area, many meals as a young boy at VandeKamps, and Ontra Cafeteria. Always at May Co. especially around the holidays.
