1948-50 Flasher Base

I took Howard's approach, and drilled out the old wires in the base, after several attempts I was able to get the solder to hold and it has good continuity at each wire to the terminals. My question is: The unit was hanging loose behind the dash. There is a steel insulated mounting bracket attached. Where does this unit attach to? Any ideas. I can't seem to find an screw hole to mount it to.

Thanks; Dave O

On the cluster. Here are a couple of photos I believe were originally posted by BDeB showing a 22nd and 23rd series.

On the 22nd it is a different flasher with the mounting tab on the flasher and is above the speedo. On the 23rd with the tab on the socket, mount is above the clock. Later cars just left it hanging off the loom a short distance away from the cluster so on replacement flasher sockets without a mounting tab that would be an option.

While we are looking at the dash, did the 22 and 23rd models use a 5 volt regulator? Or was that just the 1951-54 cars. John

Thanks Howard, I do see a bolt sticking out with a nut on it above the clock.
