Yes, it certainly looks a lot like what Pontiac used for 1955.

I have to agree that this style looks better on the Clipper sedans, but the change to the door molding that created a cove that could extend the two-tone paint makes for a very dramatic look on the sportier hardtop body styles.

Too bad they didn't keep this early trim design just for the Clipper sedans.

'55 400. Needs aesthetic parts put back on, and electrical system sorted.
'55 Clipper Deluxe. Engine is stuck-ish.

Sorry Cli55er

I live in Western PA and have been pretty active looking at Packard ads for the past year almost, unfortunately I have never seen a 55 Junior for sale in those colors. Nor have I checked out one with those colors on the VIN plate.

Do you know the name/location of the guy he sold it to? Or really any info? Like I said I'm in PA so there's a chance I'm nearby

P.S. Found this post after Googling for pictures of a 55 400 in Sardonyx

Nice, tomorrow I'm going to be checking out a car that is a twin of yours.

Actually I've already seen it but I've gotten in contact with the owner and have the option to buy.

Just one piece of advice if that Ultramatic starts giving you trouble replace it with a GM700r from Bendtsens transmission adapters and get the kit to make it work. Although it did cost a boatload of money to get done (about $3500) it made my car into a reliable automobile-and increased performance and gas mileage.
