So I got the title from Mark's wife today, along with a packet of papers and photos related to the car.

Mark bought the car from a family in Norwalk, CA. As I thought, it was pretty much a stripped-parts car. (see pics)

I also found a page from a magazine that Mark circled and noted was the inspiration for the car's design.

Also, here is a photo of the Jag motor being mocked up in a chassis from a car that originally came from NY.

Based on the notes, the body from the Calif car was then put over the frame from the NY chassis.

The cowl seen in the photo was only used from mock-up as the Calif body retains its original.

Included with the papers was a notebook/log that Mark had for each of his cars. So lots of tidbits in there on what was used and where.

The last entry in the log is Sept 2014. The car had insurance cards dated 2016 in the glovebox. So based on that, I think he stopped working on the car somewhere between 2014 and 2016.

There was this note at the begging of the log which talks about the cars original color and upholstery.

What I have seen on the car pointed to a black car originally, unless the gray is darker than I thought.

Also, I don't think a grey top was an option? So perhaps just faded black?

That is so valuable to have those documents. Fantastic! You got to love the process and history that brought our cars to were we are today. Be sure and let Mark's wife know what a terrific bonus having these to keep with the car is to the fabric of this build.

Also, reading through the notes, the split back seat came out of a 40 110 Coupe. The seat base on the 115-C was sectioned and welded back together to fit it.

When I took the seats out, I noticed the seat frame and rod that connects the two tracks showed weld marks that were not fully ground down.

I guess the seats from the 110 are narrower, so the frame had to be shortened to fit.

Also, included with the parcel today, was this key. Verified it fits the ignition swtich. It's a very small key compared to normal Packard keys.

Hopefully on this weekends agenda....

I need to strip and paint the bottom seat frame. I'll also finish grinding the welds to dress them a bit finer.

Waiting on seat tracks to arrive from the Dallas Zone office as the existing ones are pretty rust welded, and the one side has a missing/broken release mechanism.

Also, I need to weld up the four large holes in the cowl sides where radio antennas were once installed. I need to weld those up before finishing the cowl insulation. Otherwise, welding those later would probably ignite the insulation.

I had something similar happen on the '54. I was heating up spots on the rear quarter panel to shrink the metal. Little did I know, rodents had stuffed nesting behind that panel in the trunk. I didn't notice anything was wrong until smoke started pouring out of the trunk!

The 115-C I have to be more careful with as there is still much wood in the construction.

Grey? Interesting as I don't think that was an original offering.

Is it specifically for a 36-120B, 37-120C or a 37-115C convertible couple? As those are the only models that interchangeable.

But yes very interested! Thanks!
