While going through some of my late father in laws books about Jersey Shore, Penna. one advertisement caught my attention.

Don Welsch Packard which was located in Lock Haven, Penna. ran an advertisement in a book about Jersey Shore from the late 40's advertising the selling of both Packard and Pontiac at the same time. This dealership went out of business in the early 80's and was still selling Pontiac's.

I've seen license plate frames bearing that dealer's name (with both brands) on eBay a couple of times, several years ago.

You should add an entry about them to the Packard Dealers database, here - even if you don't have a pic.

When I was about 10 years old my father would drive the family by the "Packer Pontiac" dealership in Detroit. I remember asking my dad was the dealership Packard or Pontiac. He never really got me to understand that it had nothing to do with Packard.

Spectators at car shows often call my car a "Packer". I tell them the car ws built in Detroit not Green Bay Wisconsin but now it appears that answer is not so good.

There was/is a tollbooth employee on the Pa turnpike who always says, whenever I drive through, that "the Packers are his favorite team".
