Eric,

If I remember right, at one point in time didnt you come up with a HEI conversion for the Straight 8 motors?

I'm just curious how that worked and what was involved.

Oh yeah, long time ago. You use a Pontiac or Olds distributor, and some slight modifications. It's pretty easy, just use the original Packard lower shaft. I can give anyone directions on how to make one.

Did you notice any change in performance, gas mileage, etc?

Performance seems to be better, but drivability is the greatest gain. I've had the HEI in my V8 for 2 years, and haven't had a lick of trouble from it. I've never even touched it since I first put it in there 2 years ago.

When you're ready, send me a message and I'll give you my tele # so I can explain it to you in better detail. It's not as hard as you think it is to do.

Could I impose on you to send me those HEI instructions?

I have a 1952 Packard 200 with 288, and it is my daily driver!

Packman,
Likewise here on the HEI conversion, I have a 56 Executive which is a driver and I have been trying to find an HEI that would work. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Either a pm or email at wlsteiner@suddenlink.net.
Thanks
Bill

why not just get rid of the points and get the electronic ignition conversion off ebay for a buck 50....would be much easier to do.
