Any tips for removing the heater core on a '48? I'm getting windshield moisture and suspect a leak.
Is it easier to remove the entire box first or to remove all the screws for the cover? If the latter, does the blower have to be removed first?

Not an expert on those years but if it's like all the later Packard heaters --unless removed by a previous mechanic and left out-- there will be at least one sheetmetal screw on the box that can't be accessed and removed with it mounted. It looks as if the box comes off the same way later ones do by removing the interior air distribution chamber cover and then removing the nuts off the studs from box coming thru firewall. Not sure about the blower but expect there will be a sheetmetal screw or two holding them together.
