willing to bet it has the whole motor from the 400 in it. weren't these 374s with dual carbs. not 352s.

This car was sold on ebay about a week ago for something like 36,000 I think. Looks like either the winning bidder backed out, or this is a fake ebay listing. The original auction had alot more pictures. Also the original seller has been selling alot of '55-'56 packards lately, a 400, a patrician 4 door and I think a panama within the last 2 months with different ebay ID's. All in southern California. Odd.

The ad smells. Too low a price & call first, says "Watch your wallet" big time to me.

The 374-cid V8 was '56 only, Packard only, and Seniors only. As this is a '55, 352-cid would be correct.

Also, I've repeatedly heard over the decades that some people just couldn't get the 2x4 carbs tuned to their satisfication and had them replaced with a single 4-bbl. setup. That might explain the used 2x4 set-ups I've seen for sale at swap meets over the years, but they are much harder to find these days.

All that aside, I generally would not bid on ANY car on eBay without having it checked out in person - at least by someone I can trust, if not by me. Now, that sounds like something that this online growing community may be able to help with.

What could happen, just bid and send the payment via western union. Check the car out later. :) Seriously, run don't walk away from that auction.

If your stupid enough to believe this idiot, selling this car on ebay for that price. I have spoken to the current owner of the original one for sale today and this guy who's advertising this car on ebay for $9,900 is a fake and a fony.

so just a warning if your silly enough to bid, be willing to pay the consequences.

Just tried to go to the ebay listing and it has been removed, so I can't see what every one is talking about but if it is a high end Packard for a bargain basement price, then most likely it's a scam.

There is a '56 400, norwegian forest solid paint on ebay right now, about to end very soon, and it's right here in Detroit. I was set to buy it but alas, the financial news here has been disastrous this week.
