Dads gas tank.

Thin spot on tank. Float was full of gas.

I think the fire was the main cause of rust in tank. Tank got hit. Then Cooled. down.

And. Ethanol in the gas

Bites... New tank ordered.. I hope it fits.

Sending units. My dads and one out of Pete's Caribbean..

The replacement tanks seem to fit well. The neck on mine was a bit different than the original, so the opening for the filler neck sits a bit lower behind the door in the fender. Besides that, no problems.

They do have replacement sender units as well. They are about $100. I bought one but it doesn't seem to be working well. I wonder if the float has a hole in it? Ground checks out fine, and the gauge is brand new.

Thanks kevin

There was a post . that someone has to bend the neck.

Which I hope I don't need to.

I bought the ford sending unit.

But think I'm going to put original back in

Still deciding..

In car tests.

My dads worked like i remember.

The ford and Pete's had same ohms.

And same one gauge. F and E.

My dads went over F.
And stayed a tad above E.

So. Below 10 ohms. The needle will go passed F.

64 ohms a tad above E.

Of coarse my dads gauge hasn't been in operation since 92. And the fire. So might have corrosion. To work off

Is it made of the proper material to handle modern fuels? If so , it looks like a winner!

I'm so glad these tanks are being reproduced. It's a fair price for a good reproduction, and it's nice to know that you will not have a rust problem in the fuel now.
