It was a one-off prototyp but I already do my best to strech the moment to extend the time for taking farewell of Packard.

South America? Don't forget to mention Fidel Castro and the Illuminati. But dies? A ZIL was cold-formed, look at this!

...Quite simply: Packrad put the stamping dies for the senior cars outside for the duration of the war, the cosmolene job was not done properly and they rusted beyond use...

John (MrPushbutton), is it based on good evidence that "they rusted beyond use" or is it "quite simply" but without evidence?

Can u give us or point us to a timeline of the Russian Packard copies??

Something like a picture of each car model betweeen major styling changes and year span of each such model.

For example:
A picture of ZIll 111 with a caption "1958 thru 1962".

Quote from post #7 of page 1:

"The Russkies ... put some agricultural engine in them. They are close, but no cigar."

Ag engines???? Would that be Rusian Ag engines that are also Packard 8 copies only 3/8" longer in over all length???

"Packrad put the stamping dies for the senior cars outside for the duration of the war, ... and they rusted beyond use."

ok. What became of those rusted beyond use dies???
That claim is very weak at best. Possible, but grossly unlikely. What ever became of the rusted beyond use dies??? Where did they go????

As to the agricultural engine, I haven't replied that cold war rhetoric, knowing that the most of us are children of the cold war and we all are filled with old poison up to the ears. Keep cool Keith, the next generation won't know the name of this game. John has never seen a ZIL-111 engine and it would surprise me if he ever got closer than 500 miles to such a car but both we have read dozens of interesting comments from him so let's be generous to our friend.
