My untrained eye can tell you its a 1934 super 8, but I know the other 99.9% of the other forum participants can tell you a beck of a lot more. Would be nice if you had some more pictures

As already noted by a prior poster it's a 1934 Super 8 Touring on chassis 1104, and a very early one, just the 5th one built in Detroit(at least one LHD one built in Canada). The Touring is one of the lowest volume body styles, only a very few known to exist. Any ideas yet what your plans are for it?

No, though it might have been an export sale, more likely than not it just means some dealer was negligent in completing that detail of the sale - not really that uncommon to find them blank (unfortunately). Depending on the destination country, some export models are easy to spot by things like a metric (km) speedometer or RHD. Export cars to countries with LHD and U.S. unit gauges are more difficult to establish when the plate is blank.

I have data from about 236 surviving 1934 Packards and this car is new information to me. Glad to see it survived, and I hope better days are ahead for it.

VERY interesting 1934 Packard. Twenty four years ago my first Packard was 1934 1105-734, Super 8, 7-passenger sedan.

I notice several things on your Packard: First, appears the front bumper is a replacement from who-knows-what. Second, rear bumper appears to be mounted upside-down - notice the Packard "shield" in the center. Also, the center slits are not pierced (cut-out)- I thought only the 1935 bumpers were not cut-out and painted black. Third: the headlamp buckets are painted and not chromed - Euro-spec lighting? Fourth: neither the headlamps or fender lamps have the Vee shaped lenses - again, Euro-spec lighting?

Roger, I do believe the rear bumper is from a 1935 and probably a Super Eight. And yes, the center piece is upside down as you noted. Can't see much of the front bumper but it's obviously not from the era.

As I look thru my database on 34s, it's only the 3rd Touring that I'm aware of that has survived out of an unknown but very low production number.
