Anybody had any information of a source where to obtain and new windshield for a Packard Caribbean 1955. Also are the windshields of other models compatible to the Caribbean?

The only interchange for a 55 Caribbean windshield would be a 1956 Caribbean convertible windshield. They have been reproduced in small batches, usually 25 at a time, quite a few times in the past though not recently. Philips Auto Glass was the source the last few times. I know of a 55 Carib windshield for sale, used but no cracks or chips - just the typical wiper blade scuffing. I had suggested the owner put it on eBay, perhaps he hasn't done that yet?

You just might want to ask your insurance agent. My Patrician had a nasty chip in it, so I called my agent with a view towards finding someone do fill the hole with plastic.

To my utter amazement they insisted on getting me a new windshield, which they had no problem finding--there was a choice of new ones--and they insisted on providing a brand new rubber bit around it.

FWIW, the hardest part of the whole deal was putting the trim back. As Mike Dulinsky says, lock up all the hammers before you start, because you will want to use them.....

Obviously Caribbean windshields are an order of magnitude scarcer, but they do make them up....
