For a 1953 Packard Caribbean, what is the proper color for the bell housing and for the transmission (three speed manual with overdrive)? Thanks.

Packard Grey. Same as all 51-54 motors except the '54 359 motor which was bronze.

Thanks. That's what I anticipated until I found the black on the bell housing and blue on the transmission.

Owen mentioned the use of a manifold wrench in BigKev's blog.

"A standard "manifold" wrench does the trick on those two lower manifold studs"

For the sake of us young (right!) guys, where does one get a manifold wrench and what does it look like??

Manifold wrenches are available from Craftsman, Proto, S&K, and probably all the other good tool sources. The enclosed listing is from the MSC Master Catalog. If you prefer McMaster-Carr, just look in the index under "manifold wrenches", in Catalog 111 they are on page 2600.
