Improved Ultramatic Performance

I would just like to report that since I switched from Dexron to Type "F" transmission fluid in my Ultramatic that there is a noticable improvement in several areas of operation that to me feels more indicative of the way the transmission is supposed to perform. The direct drive lock-up is certainly more positive and feels more like a 1 to 2 "shift" that others had described to me. With the Dexron, the lockup was often undetectable and I was often concerned that it wasn't locking up at all and that the clutch disc might even be slipping under heavier acceleration. I'm not saying that the Dexron is not O.K. to use but it does seem to soften the way the transmission functions while the Type "F" seems to provide more positive operating characteristics which is what I've been looking for and expecting from it...it just keeps getting better.

In addition, after removing and replacing the upper tank and rodding out the core on my radiator, the temperature gauge is running sligtly below the middle now instead of slightly above so the cooler operating temp can't hurt the Ultramaic either.
