I read where the 38 models didn't have the actual plate but a sticker with the body # on it. Where is that located on a 6 cyl. car? ALso, where is the chassis number stamped into the chassis located?

Never found the chassis number on my car.
Rumor has it they will be on the left upper frame rail near the shock.
Decal is on the left side below the thief proof number and just about inline with the steering column on left hand drive.

ON the 1938 models If the original upholstery is still in place and not disturbed the seat coil springs have a tag on a string that shows the numbers. You might want to look there and see if you get lucky.
