king pi bushings too long

Hi all,

We replaced the king pin bearings with

bushings from Kanter. The bushings are

too long for the grease cap to fit on

the end. We've already had the bushings

sized and installed at a machine shop.

I'm wondering if we're overlooking something,

or we just need to remove the bushings, cut

them off, and reinstall them. Your experience

and knowledge is greatly appreciated.

By the way, we have a 1941 110.

Thanks in advance,

packardgary

You replaced the bearings WITH bushings??? Or you replaced the bearings AND bushings? The bearings go on top and bottom.
Or... perhaps I'm not familiar with the 110s and instead of bushings, there were needle bearings???

When I replaced my king-pin bushings and top/bottom bearings, I too had a problem with too much height. I noticed that the top/bottom bearings were slightly fatter than the originals, so I just put the originals back in and I was fine.

You might want to go to my blog and see what I did...
