Proud 1953 Clipper Deluxe owner. Thinking about my next Packard, want a Clipper Deluxe Eight, manual shift with overdrive.

I remember when I didn’t buy a 1954 Clipper in the same colors because, at $35, it was too expensive. Of course, it wasn’t such a nice car but it was completely driveable!

Yes, I know! To continue dating myself (someone has to do it!), it was in my first semester of college in 1969 at 17 years of age (I turned 18 a few days later) and saw the car parked with a For Sale sign in the window. I inquired but never bought it as I already had three prewar Packards by then and that summer I bought another.

Then there was the 1940 Darrin convertible sedan that I didn't buy a year or so later at a whopping $18k. I have regretted it ever since.

I Hear you, Don. I remember seeing a 2DR '64 Chev on a used car lot as a young twerp... pearl white with red guts and I wanted it so bad, but the $400 price tag put it just out of my budget range! LOL Chris.
