O_D - Ran across a '37 Six business coupe being street rodded on the Jalopy Journal's H.A.M.B. site. TPN has been verified as 363653. According to the current owner who is modifying the car, it was delivered by J.C. Hampshire, Gillette, Wyo. on 5-13-37. Here is a photo of the cowl wall.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you

Nope, at least not on the junior '37s. My 115C has the TPN in the same location. I expect the '35s and '36s are this way too.

You were right: my 36 has it in the middle without triangles.

My 39 senior does have triangles and is on the passenger side of the cowl.

For 1935, 1936 and 1937 the end brackets distinguish a Senior from a Junior, the same 6-digit number could have been used twice, once w/o brackets for a Jr, and with brackets for a Sr. Beginning in 1938 no numbers were repeated and they all had brackets.
