Hi - More questions on paint . After removing and cleaning my 1948 Deluxe Bonnet (hood ) prop, it appears to have been originally painted greyish or black. So, just asking, which is correct , metallic or something else ? Pictures attached Thanks

In an earlier post BDeB said they were a galvanized zinc or cadmium plated metal color. I painted mine with stainless steel paint.

I think I will use the stainless steel paint too. I was just thinking the low end models might have been painted and higher end models plated.

I used RUST-OLEUM Stainless Steel enamel to repaint the Hood Prop. It looks good, but does not match the Metallic Aluminum that I used on the Prop Rests. Guess I will have to paint them with the Stainless Steel.
