The 120 posted just above doesn't have the cloisonne emblems on the caps. I believe that's correct. I did read something somewhere about the use of senior parts in '42 but I don't remember where.

All 1942 Jr. convertibles use the Senior tail light,as this was the first year for built in turn signals, and the senior lites are a two bulb affair. Some 1942 120 convertibles use the sr. bumper, and i have never found a reason why! Probably to use up excess sr. stock! These are the only sr. parts that i know were used on the Jr. cars...

I have a 1942 Packard 120 convertible which needs restoration and is original. It has the junior taillights, although I have seen ones with senior taillights.

I think that's quite uncommon; there aren't that many 42 junior convertibles to observe but all that I've seen (perhaps 8 or 10) had senior tail lights.

There's a 1942 110 convertible coupe in the Dayton Packard museum. I'm fairly sure it has the Junior-type taillights. If I remember correctly, it's an un-restored car as well.

All 1942 convertibles use tail light assy. 377530rh&377529lh which are senior 2 bulb lamps necessary to use with the now std. turn signals! The only 42 to come from the factory with the 41 type tail lights was the model 2055 a 160 148" 7 pass. or limo built for business use.they took out as much content as possible which lowered the price 154.00 a lot of money in 1941/42! Accidents were probably the reason for 1941 parts used on 42's,as 42 parts were hard to come by even back in the 50's.....

I am quite certain that the taillights on my 1942 Packard 120 convertible coupe have not been changed from senior to junior taillights. The only scenario I can picture that occurring would be if the car had been in an accident, requiring replacement.
