41 120 Vent Window Rain Guards

Today I visited with my friend Robert who has a nice 41 110 convertible. He took me to meet his neighbor who owns a 41 120 4 door touring Sedan. I was pretty excited as I haven't had an opportunity to see another one up close, and take some pictures, since I've owned my 41 120 touring sedan.

Anyway, I saw an interesting feature on his 120. Both the drivers and passengers side vent windows had rain guards mounted above them (We'd call them vent visors on a modern car). Were these a stock option, or an aftermarket or dealer installed option, like vent visors are today?

Thanks,
Chad

Pretty sure Factory option, if not certainly very common dealer install. Seen plenty of them...

my 39 120 has them as did a 40 120 I owned in Texas. I always thought they were a stock item. Could be wrong though.

I always assumed it was stock, not an option. They should be painted body color, tho.

The car in the picture has a 2 tone paint scheme; the vent guards match the lower color. Should they match the upper color? The owner believes that paint is original.

they should be the same color as the top.
When the owner says "original", keep in mind that many people use the word to refer to "correct" or "authentic".

I can't tell you how many times I hear, "All original, fully restored", or words to that affect.

Amen on matching the top color. From memory, I think the silver top color was offered with Gray, Black, Blue, and Maroon lower - it's in the color references on PAC. The 41's were very much designed with two toning in mind, with moldings in the right places

From the Paint codes on the PAC, it looks to me like Paint code F; Silver French Gray Metallic upper and Barola Blue Metallic lower.
