I know that several members have original cars, one question is if the running boards have fender welt around them? Also has anyone found a suppler of the super eight and twelve muffler that they have been happy with. Thanks for your help, Dell

Borla East (Lebanon, New Jersey) has a long history of making Eight, Super 8, and Twelve mufflers of stainless steel from original drawings. The Twelve in particular is a complicated affair with it's intergral resonator. I have one of their mufflers on my 34 Eight and was more than satisfied.

My 34 Eight does not have traditional welting between the fenders and the running boards but it does have a fairly thick rubber spacer or gasket. I've sometimes wondered if slight dimensional variations in body assembly were adjusted with different thickness rubber spacers.

I was down at Borla East today checking on some work I'm having done to my 34, they do have a 33 Super 8 muffler in stock.
