Re-posting the below from the Chat Room(Top of page, right), will let the original poster know what I've done.

"jimjr51 Hello: Does anyone know which shifting arms on a 1954 Packard manual transmission is for the reverse and low gear ? Thanks, Jim"

On the transmission the rear lever is first and reverse. On the steering column the bottom lever is first and reverse.

Hello:
No car to show, I apologize, for all I have is a 1954, 327 cid flat head straight 8 Packard engine and 3 speed tranny with over drive that was removed from the original Packard car 25 some years ago. It was told that the engine had been rebuilt before that and that is why the Packard drive train was removed in order to save it. The drive train will be kept all stock other than installing a 4 bbl intake manifold from another 327 Packard motor. It will not be going back into another Packard, but will instead be used in an 1920's to 30's hand built Indy Car that I'm building from scratch, body and all. That is why I needed info on the shifting forks.

G'day Jim,

Sounds like quite a project and, although "technically" not a Packard, it'll have the heart of one! Instead of including it in the Packard Owner's Registry why not start a Blog in the Project Blogs Forum? There are many of us here who'd like to follow your progress on this Project and any Packard related engine/driveline queries you may have could be posted there.

G'day Jim,

Pics could probably be too big, or there are characters in the names the Site won't accept and must be a jpg file format. Try 1) putting them into an acceptable format, 2) reducing the size of the pic's and/or 3) renaming them using plain characters ie alpha/numerics only. Or, if all that fails, email the pic's to me and I'll add them here.
