Besides the pic's which Jim sent, he said this in an email: ".....Thanks again for your....help with posting the pictures for me. If you're interested, I'll keep you in the loop as she progresses. I am trying to get her on the road by August and now I'm taking her apart to sandblast, rebuild and paint the frame, suspension etc, now....."

And this in another email: ".....I see there is one Packard member following the pictures, really cool....."

Jim,

I was more than happy to load your pic's loaded onto PackardInfo. Anything Packard related deserves to be shared on this Site with the other Packard Loving members here. While I can assure you there is more than just one member following along. There's been a couple who have posted but many more have viewed the thread.

And in a further email: ".....I was at a professional local fabrication, speed and hot rod shop yesterday, I need someone to convert my 8 lug front brake drums to 6 lug so I don't have to run wheel adaptors, now that shop has talent. They build all kinds of cars from scratch, and have a complete machine shop they make their own frames, suspension, dashes, even hand forming car body parts from start to finish, they are top notch talented fabricators.

The reason I didn't post all Jim's remaining pic's yesterday was that I went to Sydney and in the afternoon "interviewed" a bloke about his '25 326 which was converted in the mid '30's into a Tow Truck. When I say "interviewed", I listened while he spoke about that and his other cars, and now have about 80 minutes of conversation to transcribe into a word document. In 5 second sound bites, then with typing and retyping, looks like I'll be chained to the laptop for the foreseeable future.!

".....these pictures this morning from WaltM who is doing the finished body work, now this weekend I'll pick up the primer for the final sanding, then I'll paint it White. She is looking good I think. Normally these cars were not show cars in the 30's, just simple boat tail body designs that were perfected throughout the early years....."

Additionally, seeing this thread has gone way past a question concerning trans shifting arms, I have asked Jim whether this thread could be moved to the Projects Blog Forum and he is agreeable.

BigKev, could you make this happen please? When the thread is transferred, could it be renamed "Jim's Packard Powered Speedster" to reflect this transmogrification?
