Its your car to do with as you see fit, just a proviso before you do: you'd better plan on keeping the car a very long, long time. There are already several such early '50's Packard convertibles that have had another make newer powertrain installed that remain advertised for sale for years on end with no takers. The reality is, Packard people only want Packards with a Packard engines. Good luck with your '51 Convertible.
