Go to Motor City Packards Facebook page and look at the posting dated February 18 and you will see 16 images.

I think I read that the rain reduced the car count from 40 to 10. Maybe someone could verify.

I was there at sogfest. There were 5 cars in the hotel banquet area, two under the portico in front of hotel and 5 in the covered parking structure. 5+2+5=12 at the hotel. There were I believe 6 more cars for judging at Custom Auto Restoration.

Although the weather did not cooperate and the number of cars was small, the event was still very enjoyable. The number of venders at the swap meet was encouraging.

Here are some pictures I took at the PI Membership Meet. I did not get all of the cars, even though the numbers were few. I wish I had taken more pictures at General Lyons museum, we may not be going back as he is 93 years old.

Here is a shot of a few cars at Custom Auto.
A shot of a 1934 V12 LeBaron runabout.
A shot of the swap meet. There were quite a few 'vendors' there and many bargains were to be had. I just couldn't put them all in one shot.

I know I missed a few cars. There was a 48 Sedan for sale for only $8,000. It looked good and it ran fine. The seller was not a member but he was looking for a member to buy it. No I didn't get a picture of that one either.

Thanks for the pix. Showcar 2 is the 36 120 by LeBaron, formerly owned by the actor and hobbyist/Packard fan Edward Hermann. One of a relatively small number of junior cars that have achieved CCCA acceptance.

Edward Hermann car - Beautiful Packard and especially like the color. Was it the subject of its restoration in a TV show several years ago? If I recall correctly, it was also exhibited at Pebble Beach in the late 1990s. Also, I note that it is fitted with one of the outside rear view mirrors that has received discussion here recently.

what exactly makes a car a (insert name) car?

do you have to do something significant or win at Pebble beach for it to be the XX car instead of just a Packard?

just wondering.

Well! That's some kind of a record in these photos: the former Jeremy Janss Caribbean out in the light of day at a Packard meet. As best I can recall, first time this has happened since the 1970s. Looks like it has a new top and either someone did a masterful job on shining the paint or that's new too! Wonder if the front seat has been repaired. Left antenna looks bent, but nice to see it again. Sure didn't look like this when I saw it last.

Congrats to whoever owns it now. This unusual car has not been seen in decades!
