That is an interesting photo issue. Chalk another one up to broken internet standards between browsers. So much for the so called http standards the browser people say they are following.

To the issue at hand, with MacOS and Safari I see all the photos but in Firefox I just see the flywheel and a notation holder for the other photos to open in another window -- which they do not.

As another example, in Safari I cannot open the Kanter website because it says it can not establish a secure connection but Firefox opens it just fine.

I run Safari 10.0.3 with Mac OS Sierra 10.12.3

The only photo I see on my Mac is the flywheel.

Gets stranger and stranger. I have the same MacOS version and Safari 10.0.3. Have no issue seeing the photos. In Firefox 51.0.1 everything except the flywheel has a blue link like indication to open in another window but nothing happens if you try. Wonder what the difference could be.

Maybe something in the program used to create the original post was lost when it was copied over to the forum.

HH56: thanks for reposting these photos as I can see them on Firefox.

Jack Vines: thanks for posting these in the first place. This looks like quite a challenge to recreate a 440CID Packard V8. Keep the updates coming!

The shop owner, who's been grinding for forty years, says the Packard forged crank counterweights aren't right. He welded on large additions to the second and fourth counterweights.

It didn't register till Dave Czirr pointed out that anytime you change the stroke by welding and grinding, then you must rebalance the crankshaft.
I wondered at this because I have a forged crankshaft in my 56 Caribbean and the shop that rebuilt the engine didn't have any comment that the counterweights "weren't right." And that engine runs very smooth.
