On Clippers almost everything in the way of bells and creature comforts was an option. The rear door pillar switches may have been part of one of the interior option packages such as the deluxe packages which provided a glove box light, cigar lighter, ash trays and a few other items. The courtesy lights do not list out separately in the 51 or 52 option list and we don't have a 53 list on site to see if there is any differences on those.

For your radio, more than likely you will need to replace every capacitor in it. I have 2 radios and I had to do that with both of them. All of my tubes were good and one radio had a bad vibrator. If you check my blog I have it documented. If I can do it, anyone can! Seems like a big job, but is doable.

My '54 Deluxe does not have rear door switches. Just the front door ones.

I just wanted to say again thank you for this forum, and for the searchable history.

I just looked this thread up again because the dome light stopped working (same thing, just had to be wiggled around again to refresh the contacts), and I had to look up once more how to access the bulb. So useful!
