I'm not sure what these are called (the part under the knurled screw top), but our car does not have them. Any idea of where to get them, and what they are called?

West, looking at the photo it looks like the spark plug may be screwed into some kind of an adaptor so a later type of plug can be used in an engine with larger sized spark plug holes. Que no? Anyway, the caps are most attractive. JWL

JW. That may be so, but I'm only interested in the chrome "cap" at the top.

!!!! Thank you !!!

$95 for a set of Eight. That seems extremely reasonable, too!!

Negative. The ones in the photo above ARE the large ones and are for all Eight cylinder cars. The smaller ones are for the Twelves. (according to the web site)

West, I don't believe that is correct. 1934 Eights (and maybe 33 ad 32) used a smaller diameter knurled thumb screw on the plugs than did the earlier cars. There are some factory photos which though not always indisputable, show this.

You are correct, Dave. The reproduction "caps" are merely to make the spark plug look like a two-piece plug. Here is what the original should look like.

What is the technical function of the caps?
