It is a 55 or 56 with a chunk knocked out of the bellhousing. I don't recall ever seeing a chart listing a range as to what year a specific number would fall into but believe the B indicates it originally went into a Clipper Super or Custom. Perhaps someone remembers or has a chart and can narrow it down as to specific model and year but if not, the only way I would know what year is to check the center housing. That section was cast iron in 55 and aluminum in 56.

Looks to be a '56--aluminum case, right? it may have also been a pushbutton car, it appears as though the tread reducer is still in place for the adjustment strap bolt.
