Hi all,

I would like to share with you my new Packard restoration project: a 1942 Packard 20th series One-Eighty Super Eight Custom Touring Limo.

I found the car four years ago, sharing garage with a 1953 Mercedes Benz 300 C Adenauer, that now is restored.

The car is a 1550 model (see Car ID number). Stamped of firewall the number is <707I35>.

The engine is ready and fitted in the chassis (see closing the super eight engine). The date of the engine is *1 8 47* and I haven't found the engine number.

The car was found in average condition, without rust (see body when found). Many parts are lost, so I will need to do a good job if I want to finish the car. The car is painted in maroon (Cavalier Maroon).

I will take some photos of the car at this moment and I'll place them here. Regards.

A very worthy and rare car, a Full Classic and a wonderful driving car. I hope we see more pictures as your restoration proceeds and thanks so much for posting it here. Just a comment, it may be the lighting but the green engine enamel appears far removed from the Packard engine enamel. I'm betting from the engine condition you're going to do a wonderful restoration and it would be nice to see this little detail corrected.

And thanks for the numbers, I'll add them to my database.

Manuel,

Looks like a fair bit of work ahead of you and I'll look forward to following your progress. From what you've done on the engine and your other Packards it's sure to be a fine car when finished. And a suggestion, if you intend to update your progress on the '42 and if you're agreeable of course, it might be better to have BigKev transfer this thread to the Project Blogs Forum which is better suited to that purpose because "Here you can create a thread for yourself to track the progress of your Packard Restoration Project. and share that progress with the world."

Yes, I think that the "Project Blog" will be the right place for this post. BigKev, please, can you move it there?. Thanks in advance.
