Hi

Sorry for the short notice, but this '40 120 convertible sedan project turned up at this upcoming Plymouth, WI auction 11-4-2017:

auctionzip.com/cgi-bin/auctionview.cgi?l ... 38&kwd=Packard&zip=14836&category=4

Here's a couple of their lousy photos of it. Generally quite a collection of dusty, rusty and krusty cars altogether.

Steve

A couple of us plan to go Sat and check things out. Pre bidding seems rather healthy already. My understanding is that few of these cars have title & this is why they are listed as "parts" cars. The '53 Skylark has crazy bidding!

Hi 64avanti

Anything to report from your auction experience?

What shape was this '40? What'd it sell for?

Any other Packards in the sale?

Anything else to report?

Curious minds want to know....

Steve

Our poor weather on Sat. changed my plans but a friend reported that most of the cars were "truly metal free" and that they suffered from poor storage and raccoon scat. Several appeared to have been hauled from salvage yards? Still, prices seemed quite high in many cases. The Packard sold for 9K + fees. Yuck.

The initial pics of that car look pretty good until I saw all the other pics of it through the actual auction site. The was for sure body rot and the nearly all the door bottoms looked pretty swiss-cheesed.
