Owen, You're the theft proof number whisperer.

EDIT:

Let the ride decide, this is what I made out :

Theft proof number of C81430 on that 1954 Packard Pacific.

Anyone else wanna take a stab?

Dave (O_D), today one of the few "nameless" cars, a 1940 One-Twenty 4-Door Touring Sedan (1392) without thief-proof number between the embossed triangles. The owner of the car with vehicle number 1392-10553 seems to express a personal touch by idiosyncratic coloring of the window frames and a frog-green steering wheel.

This early 1951 Packard 300 Touring Sedan is equiped with Ultramatic. His youth it spent in Texas and waits for a new home in Austria now.
The color of the instruments is an optical highlight of the car with thief-proof no. A97944 and vehicle no. 2472-16086. Sometimes the sun turns the gold-silver-green instruments into light gray but there the green looks deep and fresh like new.

Gusha, as always thanks for the numbers. Like so many of the 1939 Twelves, that one was also built with a left-over 1938 body.

Hope nobody minds me asking on this thread but so far this is where I've found the most help full info.
I have recently acquired my first Packard I was told and believe it is a 1940 110 business coupe mostly intact with no rust, except it had been taken apart for restoration some 35 years ago and a few years ago the building it was in was damaged by a tornado then sometime after the gentleman who owned it passed away. I purchased car from the family but they didn't know where the title was and some of the small things that had been removed during restoration had been lost presumably in the tornado. Like the body tag, this car also does not have engine as he was going to update the power train and there is no theft proof number in firewall. I am hoping there would be another number stamped somewhere to be helpful to take to BMV. the only thing I have found as others have posted is inside the front seat back in what looks like yellow crayon passenger side is a circle with the number 32 inside it and on drivers side looks like C 4490. any help would be very appreciated
