That is a '51 with 54 headlight rings and 52 bottle openers on rear fenders. Gorgeous original car with some later styling upgrades.

Oh okay, I see it now. He got the best of a few years, I see he also has '53 fins. Thanks Randy!

The 51 is now owned by grand son in law of original owner who made a lot of upgrades to car I have lots of pictures on different details on it. Told the owner to come here and join and register on owners registry. He has done a few things to get back on road including brakes fuel had engine rebuilt due to it being locked up. Its really nice for a original car all mods were done by the first owner. The current owner is very nice guy who wants to keep it close to as found except for safety issues. I hope he joins here and he can tell his story. All of the people at the cruise were impressed by the car. This car proves there are still nice original cars out there even in areas like Pa that can cause a lot of rust issues.
This should be another subject I just got carried away with the condition and the attitude of the new owner.

Randy,

I think the large round gauge near the ignition key is a vacuum gauge. The other thingy under the middle of the instrument panel is probably a gauge set for electric and oil pressure. What do you think?

It does look like a vacuum gauge. There are extra knobs/controls to the right of the ignition switch. Can't wait to see this car up close and personal.

That red thing looks like one of the many different automatic dispensers for products like Marvel Mystery Oil. There must have been one variety or another sold by every corner gas station and garage back then. Ozstatman has posted a few pictures in his blogs of some different ones found here and on cars down under.

I just sent my grille off to POTMETAL RESTORATIONS in Tallahassee Fla. They did good work for me on Best Other.
The main grille is 52 inches long - one h__l of a casting for that era. It was passable but all the rest of the chrome around it was new and made it look a little shoddy. I mounted it on a board 62 inches long with six inch boards screwed to the sides - should be a sturdy package. It was just a little too big for USPS so I went to UPS.
