You MAY need an adapter for the WCFB flange/bolt holes. I had to use a pair to fit Holley 9776 carbs to a 1956 Caribbean intake on my Panther. FYI, throttle linkage should not be a big issue for you.

After having the WCFB apart 3 times & rebuilding 2 Rochesters, it never ran better that with the 1406. Stack 1/4 inch of Edelbrock gaskets for the throttle blades to clear the intake manifold. And your air cleaner will not fit the airhorn.

Yes, 'Lectric choke. My air cleaner was a brand X so a 1 inch spacer would certainly have worked.

I installed a 1406 (auto choke) on my 56 400 last year and it runs great... You'll need an adaptor plate - the one I used is a Racing Power (rpc) R2064 Large 4 Bbl To Small 4 Bbl Taped 4 Hole Adaptor. I purchased this on line from Barnett Performance...

How is mileage and performance with that 1406? And does it have an overflow back to the gas tank?

Hi all, the carb on my '55 Clipper is pretty tired, so I'm going to go with the Edelbrock set up. For those that have gone this route, can you advise on the vacuum line set up that you went with? I have a fairly accurate idea on what goes where, but any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Those Edelbrock carburetors have three vacuum outlets: a small ported, a small full vacuum and a large full vacuum. Probably the small ported is the one for your distributor. The large full vacuum can be used for the power brakes.
